Dovetailed Economy Bowl

This bowl is called an economy bowl. It is called this because of how it is made from a single plank of wood as opposed to a large chunk of wood. There is far less waste, but you can be constrained to the basic shape. I chose a dovetail design using maple and walnut for the contrasting color. The walnut is from a tree that came down on my parents property. This bowl measures 13 inches across and stands about 4 inches tall. It has a smooth friction polish finish that brings out the beauty of the wood.
