Walnut Tripod Bowl with Natural Edge

This walnut bowl came from a piece of walnut branch that I had found. Its a section where the branch splits into two, but where it split it had a bit of burl to it so it was thicker. It took a while for me to discover what shape it needed to be, but when I started turning it on the lathe it became clear. This piece is 8 inches across and stands 2 inches tall. The finish is a rubbed oil to give it a more natural appearance.
